The former silver mining town of Calico is California State Historic Landmark Number 782 and it is the official "State Siver Rush Ghost Town" of California. Caliso has been restored and turned into a tourist attraction surrounded by a 480 acre county regional park. Calico is located about 12 miles northeast of Barstow.
